Something intense yet exciting experience which lets you climb to the top is rock climbing. An activity in which a climber has to ascend up in the rocky steep object using one’s hand feet or any other physical strength is rock climbing. Rock climbing can either be done within a natural rock or it is even man-made rock wall nowadays. Rock climbing requires both Physical and mental strength, that taste climbers physical and mental capacity to endure a thrilling yet exciting adventure.

 

Rock climbing can be done for various motives it may either be for recreation, entertainment or can be done as an adventure and also a part of a thrilling competition. Mostly in Nepal, it is done as an adventure as the geographical structure of Nepal is suitable for rock climbing as we have steep hills with rocks where an adventure can take place smoothly.

It is genuinely a sports adventure done for fun for physical fitness or even as a part of training for Nepalese Military. No matter the reason but the usage of specialized equipment and proper guidance from the guide can make this climbing safer. There are many suitable places inside an outside Kathmandu valley for rock climbing where your experience might be new but you will find your try memorable.

Balaju Rock climbing

 

One of the nearest rock climbing sites situated in the North West site of Kathmandu is Balaju Rock climbing which is approximately 30 min drive from Kathmandu. This climbing site can be taken as a place for training as there are many multi-pitch 65m and single pitch 12 m, as well as a place for new experiences of an adventure. There are more than 20 climbing routes and grade 4a to 7b+ with a guide from experienced climbers to the beginners. You will need a guide for climbing if you are new into this.

 

 

Bimal Nagar Rock Climbing Site

 

Another rock climbing site which is 5-hour drive from Kathmandu on the way to Pokhara is Bimal Nagar Rock climbing site. It is 140km from Kathmandu and 60 km from Pokhara. It is 55 m Natural rock climbing where climbers can have an amazing climbing experience along with the majestic view of Mt. Manaslu and Marsyandgi River. It is a newly open climbing site where one can have a professional experience of climbing with the proper guidance from the professional guide and well-skilled climbers.

 

 

Hattiban Rock climbing sites  

 

 

Another rock climbing sites in the southern part from Kathmandu is Hattiban Rock climbing site, which is 26km from Kathmandu which takes about 1-hour ride from the bus. Mostly, this site is suitable for skilled and professional climbers where they can enjoy top level climbing grades. There are more than 10 climbing routes and grade from 6a to 7a. The climbing is intense and the experience is worth giving a try.
